To assist families impacted by Hurricane Michael, The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) will release food assistance benefits immediately to all 35 counties included in Governor Scott’s pre-landfall emergency declaration.

Today, Governor Rick Scott directed DCF to begin utilizing a new federal grant to increase access to medication-assisted treatment, reduce opioid-related deaths and equip professionals with the necessary tools to combat the national opioid epidemic in Florida.

DCF is teaming up with the Ticket to Dream Foundation to encourage community members and local businesses to collect school supplies for children in foster care.
