DCF Waives Restrictions on Using Food Assistance Benefits to Purchase Prepared Foods for Customers Impacted by Hurricane Michael

TALLAHASSEE – To assist families who evacuated or experienced storm damage related to Hurricane Michael, current Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) customers are permitted to purchase hot foods with their Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards at participating retailers through October 31.

DCF also released SNAP benefits early for those current customers scheduled to receive their benefits in October who lived in one of the 35 counties included in Governor Scott’s October 9 emergency declaration.
